In the late 1950s, Mario and Viviane Rigaud's inspiration was to combine fine fragrance with wax to create an entirely new product: the world’s first scented candle. All our candles continue to be hand-made in France with unique fragrances and our own special soft wax. This gives them an intensity and longevity unmatched to this day.
The wax is cooled very slowly and carefully to ensure a perfect fill. All the candles are poured, prepared, and packed by hand – even the ribbons are hand-placed and tied in the tradition of the great French luxury houses. We use unique fragrances at a generous concentration of between 8 and 12 percent. When the candle is lit, the special soft wax becomes liquid, allowing the fragrance to flow freely into your home. Because the wax remains liquid while the candle is lit, every drop of the wax is consumed with no wastage whatsoever (From Rigaud Paris website).
